๐ฑ Cat Secretary Delayed
The anti-AI story adventure 'Cat Secretary' has been pushed back to January 20, 2027 [1]. Developer Good Story Guild says it will work on revisions and Steam Deck optimization, and that it wants to avoid heavy crunch during development [1]. A decision that looks after the devs' well-being deserves a cheer ๐
๐ New Indie Demos & Releases
- Parricide Otaku: The story-driven multi-ending adventure from Korean indie team KiwiSaurus officially launched on PC via Steam on the 16th [2]. It took three years to develop, so the finished game is especially welcome.
- LumberBoy: A pixel art incremental game from the three-person Korean team HiddenStageGames. You chop and process trees, sell them, and grow bigger step by step, and a free demo is now available on Steam [4]. Incremental fans, go download it!
- Albedo Carta: A turn-based RPG from IGNOST that combines visual novel and turn-based RPG elements [3]. It will appear at the Steam Next Fest with a playable demo [3].
- Rain98: A psychological suspense adventure from Japanese indie developer C#4R4CT3R. It follows a story set in Tokyo in 1998 where you live with a girl who wants to destroy the world [5]. A new trailer was revealed at 'The MIX Fall Game Showcase 2026' on the 17th, and a free demo is available on Steam [5].
- Boyboard: A run-and-gun Metroidvania inspired by a legendary heavy metal band [6]. It supports Windows, macOS, Linux, and Steam Deck on PC, while console versions are in development for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox [6]. It's also joining the Steam Next Fest, so don't miss it!
๐ Contenders for the Korea Game Awards Indie Prize
With the Korea Game Awards one month away, 'Stardust: Stars and Witches' and 'Stepper Retro: Psychic Detective Quest', both well received on Steam, are being named as strong contenders for the indie prize [7]. Stardust is a PC turn-based SRPG from Knives Studio, released in May, and has surpassed 30,000 copies sold [7]. Among 743 Steam user reviews, 80% are positive, and its wishlist count has passed 160,000 [7]. Stepper Retro, from Team Tetraport and released in July, received a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam [7]. Both are selections of Pearl Abyss's BIGEM program, so the results are even more exciting ๐
