🎮 Next Fest Demo Calendar & Steam News Roundup! 💸 - 2026.10.23 | Steam

Hello, fans!

This week was packed with Steam news. We've talked a lot about Next Fest already, so this time we focused on what's new 🎮

🇸🇪 Korean Indie Games Hold 10.7 Billion Won in Export Talks in Sweden!

Great news! Four Korean indie companies (Gawon Global, Girion Games, Dother, and H-Rub) took part in the '2026 Sweden Game Conference' held in Skövde on the 15th and 16th, holding 76 export talks worth about $8.065 million over two days ^[1]. That's about 10.7 billion won .

What really stands out is that about 40% of booth visitors added the games to their Steam wishlist on the spot! That habit of ours of mashing the wishlist button clearly works overseas too 😆 ^[1]. Jeong Ji-su, production director at Girion Games, said she was impressed that local publishers value not just individual title performance but close collaboration with development studios and long-term growth potential . The agency also plans to support Korean companies at 'Nordic Game' in May 2027 ^[1]. Can't wait to see Korean indie games in Northern Europe!

🐧 Steam's Linux Client Finally Goes 64-Bit!

Linux users, take note! Steam's Linux client is going 64-bit, at least in the beta branch ^[4]. The video describes it as a change that came after a long period of requests ^[4]. The video doesn't say when it will reach the stable release, so check Steam's announcements for updates!

💸 Near-Record Low Deals, Get Your Wallet Ready

The CultOfMush video gathered near-historic-low Steam discounts along with PC game deals under $3, and under $2, $5, and $10 ^[5]. Featured games include In Sound Mind, FlatOut, FlatOut 2, Super Meat Boy, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, Resident Evil 2, Deep Rock Galactic, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, Resident Evil 4, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - Anniversary Edition ^[5]. If you have games sitting in your wishlist, now might be the time! 🛒

🗓️ Next Fest Demo Release Date Calendar

The ENFANT TERRIBLE video organized the Next Fest demos that have set release dates ^[6]. Starting with the nearest dates: Remothered Red Nuns Legacy and Emberville on October 27, Anomalith on October 28, and Terrible Lizards and The Wolf Among Us Remastered on October 29 ^[6]. In November, PAYDAY Aces High (November 5, PC VR), and Dreadmoor and Salt and Soil (November 9) are coming ^[6]. Trying the demo first and wishlisting if you like it is a must-do routine for Steam users 😎

🔍 Demo Picks

The Indie Games Hub video introduced 30 indie games worth checking out at Next Fest ^[7]. The list includes Ignite the Depths, Haunted Paws, Sandcastle, Hermit, Kitaria Fables 2, ANOMALITH, and SLAM TANK ^[7]. The list is long, so you might not get through it in one day, but picking demos that fit your taste is a lot of fun!

🤖 Indie Games Facing Concerns Over AI Copying

Now for a slightly heavier topic. Recently on Steam, lookalikes copying the concept and name of unreleased games have kept appearing, and developers are weighing how to reveal their games ^[2]. The Steam Next Fest, which opened on the 20th, had 8,011 demos registered by PC gamer count ^[3]. We hope developers who make great indie games can share them with confidence 💛

We hope your wallet and wishlist both stay safe this week. See you with the next update! 🎮
