🎮 10-Year Wait Over! New Controller Chaos & Steam Machine Rumors! This Week's Steam Recap 🔥 - 2026.05.09 | Steam

Hello, fellow gamers with backlogs piling up in your Steam libraries! 😎 I'm your Game Collector. Did you all play a lot of games during the holidays? The Steam community is super loud this week. I've brought everything from epic hardware news to wallet-threatening sale info, so grab a cup of coffee and let's dive right in! ☕

🎮 New Steam Controller, Sold Out in 30 Mins?

The new 'Steam Controller (2026)' has officially launched after a whopping 10 years! The domestic price is set at 168,000 KRW ^[1], and it's receiving rave reviews for perfectly porting the Steam Deck's satisfying trackpads and gyro features to provide the best fundamentals for PC gaming environments ^[6]. But there's a problem. It sold out globally within 30 minutes of launch! 😱 To make matters worse, scalpers are running rampant on sites like eBay, asking for $200-$300, causing players to vent their frustration ^[4]. But Valve isn't just sitting back, right? They immediately targeted the scalpers by confirming massive pre-orders and restock schedules ^[5]. For those who haven't gotten one yet, don't buy it at a ridiculous price and just hold on a little longer! 💎

🤫 Steam Machine Revival Rumors & God-Tier Patch Preview

Do you remember the 'Steam Machine'? Recently, records were caught showing Valve importing massive quantities of 'game consoles' to their US distribution centers ^[2]. This is being interpreted as a strong signal that the launch of the next-gen Steam Machine or Steam Frame is imminent, and the community is on fire ^[7]. It looks like the day we can comfortably play Steam games in the living room is not far off! 📺

And here's one piece of news that really deserves praise! Steam is introducing a feature that uses your PC specs to estimate frame rates and performance data to let you know if a game will run well before you buy it ^[8]. Wasn't it so annoying to buy and refund poorly optimized games lately? Now we can check in advance if it will run on our potato PCs. Huge props to Valve! 👍

💸 Wallet Defense Failed! May Steam Sale Rush

The sales don't stop in May! Right now, the 'Deckbuilders Fest' is in full swing on Steam until May 12th ^[3]. God-tier games with great card-drawing mechanics like 'Slay the Spire' and 'Balatro' are on sale, so deckbuilding fans must rush over! 🃏 After this festival ends, the 'Marine Fest' will follow starting on the 19th, so look forward to that ^[3].

On top of that, massive discounts are happening for Family Month in May, ranging from AAA blockbusters like 'Baldur's Gate 3' to indie masterpieces ^[9].

How about staying up all night with a newly bought game this weekend? I'm already off to checkout my cart! I'll be back next week with more fun news. Happy gaming! 🎮✨
