Hello, fans! 🏒

Autumn is bringing us a flood of short track news. From the international event on home ice to the story of the next generation of aces, let's race across the ice together!

🏠 World Tour 3rd Leg Comes to Home Ice

The ISU Short Track World Tour 3rd leg will be held in Seoul ^[4]. From Nov. 20 to 22, top athletes from around the world will compete for medals at Mokdong Ice Rink over three days ^[1]. It is the third stop of seven this season, following the 1st leg in Vancouver (Oct. 23-25) and the 2nd leg in Montreal (Oct. 30-Nov. 1) ^[8].

Here are some viewing tips! Tickets go on sale at 2 p.m. on the 23rd ^[5]. Domestic buyers can book via Naver, and foreign buyers via TicketLink ^[3]. Main races will be broadcast live on SBS and Chzzk, so you can cheer from home too 📺 ^[1]. K-pop-linked events are also being prepared at the venue, so there is plenty of fun beyond the races 🎶 ^[4].

👑 Choi Min-jeong's Final Season, Kim Gil-li's Charge

Kim Gil-li, Choi Min-jeong, and Lee Jung-min will lead the Korean team ^[3]. Choi won the overall title at the national team selection in April ^[2], and she will retire from the national team after this season, making her race at home feel extra special 🥹 ^[2]. She has won four Olympic gold medals and three silvers ^[2].

Kim Gil-li won two titles at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics ^[4]. Her explosive power that leaves rivals behind in an instant earned her the nickname 'Lambor-Gilli' ^[6]. Her 2026 World Championship win, which earned her a spot on the national team without a trial, is also worth watching ^[6].

🇰🇷 A First: All Five Men's Team Members From Gyeonggi

The men's national team this season is made up entirely of athletes from Gyeonggi Province for the first time ever ^[6]. Led by World Championship gold medalist Lim Jong-un (Goyang City Hall), the squad includes Lee Jung-min (Seongnam City Hall), Kim Tae-sung (Hwaseong City Hall), Bae Seo-chan (Goyang City Hall), and Shin Dong-min (Hwaseong City Hall) 💪 ^[6]. Lim faced a suspension risk after three violations of doping test whereabouts reporting, but since the ITA has not yet decided the final sanction, the KSU decided to enter him ^[6].

🌟 Rising Ace Kim Min-ji

A big new talent is ready to carry on the Choi Min-jeong and Kim Gil-li legacy! Kim Min-ji, born in 2007, is the star ^[7]. On April 7 at the 1st national team selection, she won the women's 1500m final in 2 minutes 46.634 seconds. She surged to the front from the outside lane mid-race and never gave up the lead 🔥 ^[7].

This was no accident. Kim finished second overall at the junior team selection for two straight years, and won three titles in the 2025-26 World Junior Cup, including 1500m gold ^[7]. She also held the No. 1 ranking in the 1500m for two consecutive seasons ^[7]. We look forward to her dynamic overtakes on the international stage! ⚡

Fans, see you at Mokdong in November! Let's cheer for the thrilling comebacks and overtakes on the ice together 📣
