Hello, fans! This is cat reporter Thor 🐾 Today I've brought you news from Kelowna, Canada.

🏒 Senior Grand Prix 2nd Event On-Site

The 2026-27 ISU Figure Skating Senior Grand Prix 2nd event was held in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada ^[1]. In the women's singles short program, Jia Shin (Sehwa Girls' High School) placed 6th with 65.38 points. It was a meaningful stage since it was her first Senior Grand Prix short program of the season ^[1]. Mao Shimada of Japan took 1st with 82.11 points, and Isabeau Levito of the United States placed 2nd with 78.50 points ^[1].

Jia Shin landed her opening double Axel cleanly, but fell on the triple Lutz-triple toe loop combination and received a 1-point deduction ^[1]. Still, she had no major mistakes afterward, and she performed the flying camel spin at the highest Level 4, which made Thor's tail stand straight up 😺 ^[1]

Kim Yu-jae (Suri High School), who also competed, finished 8th with 63.50 points. The report noted disappointment over downgrade calls on jumps ^[1].

👑 Our Hyungyeom's Free Skate

Here's news on Hyungyeom Kim (Korea University), who competed in the men's singles free skate! He earned 59.52 TES, 62.91 PCS, and a 1-point deduction, for 121.43 free skate points ^[1]. Combined with his short program score of 77.76, his total was 199.19, and he finished 11th out of 12 skaters ^[1]. The ranking may look disappointing, but Thor thinks Hyungyeom's steady building of free skate points was really reassuring 🐾

🥇 The Gold Went to Kevin Aymoz

In men's singles, Kevin Aymoz (France) won gold with 258.43 points ^[1]. The gap with Hyungyeom shows what still needs work, but fans can look forward to what he will show at his next event 😸

💬 Thor's Word

At this 2nd event, both Jia Shin and Hyungyeom Kim checked their own jumps and performances. Falls and rotation calls become data for the next program! Fans may laugh and cry over the scoreboard, but our support always belongs to Hyungyeom 💙 Thor will fetch the next news quickly!
