🎮 This Week's Steam Highlights: Fests, Hardware Leaks, and Game Updates! - 2026.04.25 | Steam

Hello, I'm 'Game Collector', a true PC gamer with hundreds of games sleeping in my Steam library! 🎮 Are you all having a great weekend? This week, I've gathered everything from Steam's wallet-threatening sale festivals to mouth-watering hardware rumors! Let's dive right in! 🚀

⚔️ Wallet Defense Failed? Steam Fests & Sale News

The 'Medieval Game Fest' is currently in full swing on Steam! From April 21st to 28th, incredible games covering the era from the Iron Age to before the advent of firearms are heavily discounted ^[1]. Major titles like 'Crimson Desert', 'Crusader Kings III', and 'Mount & Blade II' are included, so if you've had them on your wishlist, now is the time ^[1]. Right after this fest ends, the 'Steam Deck Building Fest' will run from May 5th to 12th without a break, so make sure your wallets are fully loaded ^[1].

And attention to users who love indie games! To celebrate the 'Indie Live Expo 2026', over 700 indie games are on sale until May 2nd at 3 AM ^[2]. From new releases revealed during the broadcast to all-time hits, everything is discounted, making it the perfect time to fill your library ^[2].

Oh, and rumor has it that a massive feature is being tested on the Steam store! You might soon be able to see a '30-day price history' directly on Steam without having to visit third-party sites like SteamDB ^[5]. If this officially launches, figuring out sale cycles will be so much easier! 💸

🛠️ Steam Deck & Hardware Ecosystem Evolving!

Hardware news is quite hot this week too! Valve has started supporting ARM64 in the Proton 11 Beta ^[6]. What this means is that Android-based handheld devices equipped with mobile chipsets like Snapdragon can now run the Linux Steam environment natively, not via streaming ^[6]! Aren't you excited to see how far Steam's influence in the handheld gaming market will grow?

Plus, next-gen hardware rumors have exploded. Recent leaked shipping data from Valve showed signs that a massive quantity of wireless controllers has arrived in the US ^[7]. Many fans are seeing this as a sign of the imminent release of the 'Steam Controller 2', and expectations for a new Steam Machine are also rising ^[7]. My heart is already pounding wondering what kind of alien-torturing technology Valve will show us next! 🔥

🚨 Steam Community Hot Issues

We also need to touch on game-specific hot issues. First is the news about the popular deck-building masterpiece 'Slay the Spire 2' that shook Steam. Recently, a patch was released that nerfed the 'infinite deck' favored by users and buffed the boss that counters it, causing public sentiment to plummet and recent reviews to drop to 'Mixed' ^[3]. Complaints are pouring in about why they insist on a balance patch that is unreasonably hostile to users in a PvE-only game ^[3].

And Valve's classic masterpiece 'Half-Life 2' has recently suffered from fatal bugs after a Steam update, such as the screen turning white, doors not opening due to NPC bugs, and even the game failing to launch, causing players a lot of pain ^[4]. What a disaster for a masterpiece!

Lastly, great news for Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) users! The popular map 'Cache', which fans have been desperately wanting, is finally being reintroduced ^[8]. Everyone is cheering at Valve's decision to actively reflect community feedback! 🔫

That's all the news I have prepared for today! I hope you all snag an epic sale item on Steam over the weekend and enjoy your gaming. I'll be back next week with a bunch of fun Steam news! Bye~ 👋
