Hello, fans! 🛼

Today brought plenty of news about comebacks chasing the national team badge. Let's dash through the stories of athletes back on the ice!

🔥 'Speed Queen' Seven Begin the Comeback!

TV CHOSUN's short track variety show 'Speed Queen' has revealed its lineup of seven athletes ^[1]. It's a sports reality show where elite skaters, including Olympic medalists and former national team members, compete for spots in the actual national team selection trials . The premiere is next month, on Wednesday at 10 PM, so mark your calendars 📅 ^[2]

The coaching staff includes the "short track legend" Coach Jeon Yi-kyung and Coach Kim A-rang. Actress Lee Yu-ri will serve as manager to support the athletes' challenge ^[3].

The stories of the seven are the real highlight! 😍

Shin Sae-bom: She has devoted 22 years to short track and is known as a 'tragic genius.' She once dreamed of the national team without fulfilling it, so this challenge means even more ^[1]
Kim Bo-reum: A former speed skating World Champion, she now takes on short track. Fans are eager to see how she performs in a new discipline
Kim Ria: A gold medalist in the women's short track relay at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. This time she has set a new goal: an individual gold medal ^[3]
Yoon Jung-min: An all-rounder who competes in both short track and speed skating. She is said to be aiming for an upset with data from her doctoral research
Park Yoon-jung: She has worked as a writer and sports ethics lecturer, but has decided to focus on short track this time ^[1]
Kim Chan-seo: Despite working at a skate equipment company, she never gave up her dream of the national team. It will be exciting to see her racing on the ice again
Kim Do-yeon: The youngest of the seven, the 'golden maknae.' She has trained alone without a team, and she is determined to prove her skills ^[3]

The show reportedly focuses on athletes proving their current skills rather than relying on past achievements. The growth and competition along the way may be just as important as the results 💪 ^[1]

🌟 Lee Seong-yun Keeps Chasing the Dream in Daegu

Despite the lack of an ice rink in Daegu, Lee Seong-yun has not given up on his dream ^[4]. In February, he competed for the national team at the 2nd China-Japan-Korea Youth Short Track Competition, gaining international experience ^[4]. In October, he earned a spot in the junior national team reserve pool after the junior national team selection trials, proving his potential once again 🙌 ^[4]

💛 Lee Yu-bin's Photos Bring Excitement

Olympic gold medalist Lee Yu-bin, known as the 'short track idol,' shared recent photos on social media that drew fan attention. Fans said they looked like a magazine shoot after she posed in front of a retro-style iron gate 📸 ^[5]

Lee Yu-bin won the overall title at the 2017 Junior World Championships ^[5] and took gold in the relay at both the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics and the 2018 Montreal World Championships ^[5]. In the 2021-2022 ISU World Cup season, she reached the top of the women's 1500m world cup ranking ^[5]. At the 2022 Beijing Olympics, she added a relay silver, earning medals at two consecutive Games ^[5]

Injuries have made things difficult, and she could not compete at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics ^[5]. She is now aiming to return to the national team and compete at the 2030 French Alps Winter Olympics, steadily raising her pace 💪 ^[5]
