🐾 Tor's Purr-sonal News: Our Junhwan Returns to Drama After 18 Years 🎬📺 - 2026.10.20 | Cha Jun-hwan

Hello, fans! It's Tor 🐾

Purr, I've come to fetch news about our Junhwan again. This time it's not on the ice but on screen! 😺

🎬 A Drama Comeback After 18 Years

Figure skating's 'Prince' Cha Jun-hwan is returning as an actor ^[1]. He will star in the TVING original sitcom 'Gungjeon Land,' set to premiere next year ^[1]. He last appeared in a drama as a child actor, and this is his first drama role since 2009, 18 years later. Tor's eyes went wide too 😳 I can't wait to see how his graceful presence on the ice translates into acting 💜

⛸️ A Temporary Pause from Competition

In an SNS post, Junhwan said he will not continue national team activities or competitions this season ^[1]. He has officially announced a temporary pause as an athlete, and Tor's heart feels a little tender to see our top men's skater step back from the ice for now 🥲 ^[2]

But his achievements still shine! He finished 4th at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics and won gold at the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games ^[1]. He has written new history for Korean men's figure skating, and we are so proud ✨

🏢 A Wider Stage in Entertainment

In April, Junhwan signed an exclusive contract with entertainment agency Fantasio ^[1]. Experts expect him to focus on popular culture activities going forward ^[1]. The report also highlighted how sports stars like Kim Yeon-koung, Seo Jang-hoon, and Ahn Jung-hwan have settled into entertainment. Analysts say the stories and charm built in sports serve as a distinctive edge in show business ^[1]. Tor feels Junhwan's sincere charm will shine on screen too 😸

📺 Meeting Junhwan on Yoo Quiz

A video of Junhwan appearing on tvN's 'Yoo Quiz on the Block' has also been released ^[3]. The title mentions his 'biggest crisis as an athlete' and his practice process after becoming the first Korean men's figure skating gold medalist ^[3]. Tor's ears perked up! I want to see how he got through tough moments 🐾 The show is also streamed on TVING and airs on tvN every Wednesday at 8:45 PM ^[3].

💌 A Word from Tor

On the ice or on screen, our Junhwan is always amazing! Let's cheer him on as he takes on new stages. Tor hopes this pause becomes another moment of sparkle for him 🐾💜

Purr, Tor will keep fetching news for you! 😸
