⛸️ Golden News to Wash Away Olympic Blues! Junior Team Smashes It! ✨ - 2026.02.25 | Speed Skating

Hello, Speed Skating Fans! It's your editor, Ice Speed Mania! ❄️

Feeling a bit empty now that the Milano Olympics have ended? Many fans might be upset about the "No Medal" result for the first time in 24 years ^[4]. But! It's too early to be disappointed. Our future stars are growing up strong! Today, I've packed the newsletter with good news to blow away the post-Olympic blues. 😎

🌟 Better Than the Seniors? Junior Team's 'Medal Storm'!

While our Olympic team seniors were struggling in Milano, our junior skaters absolutely dominated the ISU Junior World Cup 3rd Leg in Inzell, Germany! 🥇

They swept a total of 7 medals: 2 Gold, 2 Silver, and 3 Bronze! ^[1]

Especially in the Men's Team Sprint, Shin Sun-wung, Han Man-hyeok, and Kim Jun-ha showed fantastic teamwork to win the Gold . Winning a team event makes it even more valuable, right? Plus, Lee Byung-hun proudly took 1st place in the Neo-Senior 500m with a record of 35.21 seconds .

That's not all. Medals poured in from the Mass Start as well. In the women's division, Kim Tae-hee (Silver) and Lim Eun-song (Bronze), and in the men's division, Hwang Seo-jun (Bronze) all stood on the podium . With this performance, we can definitely look forward to the 2030 Alps Olympics, right? 😉

👸 The Rising 'Ice Goddess' Lim Lee-won's Bold Ambition

Did you catch the player who captured fans' eyes at the Milano Olympics? It's the youngest member, born in 2007, Lim Lee-won! Off the rink, her cute photos waving the Korean flag in her uniform became a hot topic ^[2].

Her first Olympic result was 28th in the 1500m, which was a bit regrettable, but Lim Lee-won wasn't discouraged. She said, "I lacked a lot, but I will grow more next time," already aiming for 4 years later ^[2]. She even revealed a smart plan to 'select and concentrate' on the Mass Start, saying it has a higher chance of a medal. I'm looking forward to her growth even more! ✨

🌍 Global View: Envious Netherlands & Kim Min-seok's Challenge

Meanwhile, the 'Speed Skating Powerhouse' Netherlands held a party at the royal palace, and photos of athletes pouring medals onto a table went viral ^[3]. With team event medals like Team Pursuit included, it really looked like a mountain. Let's aim for that kind of 'Medal Flex' someday too! 🔥

Also, there's news about Kim Min-seok, who competed under the Hungarian flag. He finished 7th in his main event, the 1500m, failing to win a medal, but he calmly finished his first Olympics saying, "I have no regrets" .

Although this Olympics ended with some regrets, the victory news from our junior players in Germany seems to give us great comfort and hope. Will you keep cheering for Korean Speed Skating to fly higher using today's regrets as a stepping stone? 🙌

I'll be back with more exciting news next time! Bye! 👋
