🥇 Milano Heroes Sweep MVP & National Team on Radio Star! 📺 - 2026.03.25🥇 Milano Heroes Sweep MVP & National Team on Radio Star! 📺 - 2026.03.25

Hello, fans! It's your Milano explorer! 😆

Can you believe it's already been a month since the Milano Olympics ended? Time flies, right? I'm sure I'm not the only one still caught up in the emotion of that day, watching match highlights every single day! (It's D+31 since the Milano Olympics closing ceremony! ⏱️) The games may be over, but the amazing performances and good news from our athletes just keep pouring in. Today, I've brought a bunch of hot updates that will make your hearts race, so pay attention! 🚀

🏆 Goddesses of Milano! Sweeping the MBN Women's Sports Awards MVP

We have incredible news that our proud national athletes Kim Gilli, Choi Min-jeong, and Choi Ga-on have been jointly selected as the January and February MVPs for the 2026 MBN Women's Sports Awards! 🎉

First up, Kim Gilli was the only athlete in the Korean delegation to win two gold medals at this Olympics! She truly dominated the ice by winning gold in the women's 1500m and 3000m relay, along with a bronze in the 1000m ^[6].

And Choi Min-jeong added a gold in the 3000m relay and a silver in the 1500m, increasing her personal career Olympic medal count to a whopping 7! This sets a new record for the most medals won by a Korean athlete across both Winter and Summer Olympics ^[1]. Isn't that amazing?

We also can't leave out Choi Ga-on, who wrote a new chapter in the history of snow sports! Despite suffering an injury during the first run of the snowboard halfpipe finals, she showed incredible fighting spirit until the end, beating her idol Chloe Kim to wear the gold medal around her neck ^[6]. The title of Korea's first-ever Olympic gold medalist in a snow event makes us so proud! 🏂

📺 A Must-Watch Tonight! National Athletes Take Over Variety Shows

Great news! Tonight (the 25th) at 10:30 PM, our Olympic heroes will be making a grand appearance on the MBC variety show 'Radio Star'! 📺

Next-generation ace Kim Gilli will reveal the behind-the-scenes story of how her rehab trainer gave her the nickname 'Lamborgilli' thanks to her incredible speed ^[2]. Thanks to this nickname, she'll also share the aftermath of receiving supercar escort services starting right from the airport after the Olympics ^[2]. Plus, she's set to unleash a hilarious episode about how she almost caught 'star disease' after the Olympics, only to be completely cured(?) when she rode the subway wearing a mask and absolutely no one recognized her ^[9]. She's even teasing a cute exposé about her fellow competitor Choi Min-jeong, saying, "She can't do anything except skate," which is already making us burst into laughter ^[8].

National snowboarder Kim Sang-gyeom is also set to show off his variety show skills without holding back ^[3]. Earning a silver medal after four attempts and becoming the protagonist of Korea's 400th overall Olympic medal! On the broadcast, he effortlessly succeeded in doing 10 squats while giving the 184cm tall Kim Gura a 'princess carry' ^[7]. And that's not all—he chugged a carbonated drink and passionately sang his favorite song while holding in a burp, showing off his extraordinary ambition for variety shows ^[10]. We absolutely have to gather in front of the TV tonight! 😎

⛷️ Ski Queen Shiffrin's Endless Record-Breaking Streak!

Mikaela Shiffrin, who won gold in alpine skiing at the Milano Olympics with her overwhelming skills, has surprised the world once again ^[4].

By winning the FIS World Cup women's slalom, she has set an unbelievable milestone of 110 career World Cup victories ^[4]. Showing off the monstrous power of achieving 10 wins in her last 11 races, including the Olympic gold medal, she is truly a living legend ^[12]. Let's continue to cheer on Shiffrin's endless sprint as she leads the overall standings this season! ✨

📺 Olympic Broadcasting: Will Everyone Be Able to Watch Comfortably in the Future?

The last piece of news is a bit serious. Were there many fans who felt disappointed because they couldn't properly watch the matches during this Milano Olympics due to the exclusive broadcasting by a pay-TV channel ^[5]?

Regarding this, the National Assembly Research Service released a report stating that the 'Universal Viewing Rights System' needs to be redesigned ^[11]. It included the suggestion that public broadcasters should also be given the duty to broadcast so that viewers who only pay the TV license fee are not marginalized from watching events of national interest like the Olympics ^[5]. I sincerely hope that starting from the next Winter Olympics, an environment will be created where more fans can comfortably cheer for our athletes together! 🙏

That's all the news I have prepared for today. Even though the Olympics are over, our athletes' sweat and passion are continuing right at this moment! I'll be back in the next newsletter with more fun and informative news that will make fans' hearts race. Don't forget to tune in to 'Radio Star' tonight, and have a great evening! 💖
