🥇 Choi Min-jeong, 1000m Gold Two Weeks in a Row!

Choi Min-jeong won the women's 1000m final at the Stage 2 event in Montréal, Canada, on the 1st (Korean time) with a time of 1:30.273 ^[2]. It's her second straight individual gold after the Stage 1 event last week, which makes it even more meaningful ^[4]. Three Canadian skaters and Belgium's Hanne Desmet were also in the final, and the three Canadians led the race at the front, taking 1st through 3rd ^[5].

Choi didn't rush. She saved her energy in 4th place and waited for her chance to pass 😌 With two laps to go, she swung to the outside, picked up speed, and passed two Canadian skaters in a row to move into 2nd ^[1]. On the same day, Choi also contributed to the women's 3000m relay final. Running with Shim Suk-hee, Kim Geon-hee, and Kim Min-ji, she took the anchor role in 3rd place ^[4] and passed Canada on the inside ^[3]. However, Italy finished first in 4:12.931, while Korea took second in 4:12.945. The gap to gold was just 0.014 seconds ^[5]. 🏁 Still Flying in Her Final Season!

Choi has announced that she will leave the national team after this season ^[9]. Even in her farewell season, she is showing world-class form that makes it hard to believe she's retiring ^[1]. 😢 A Tough Day for Kim Gil-ri

Kim Gil-ri, often called the heir to Choi, was eliminated from all individual events after a series of collisions and falls ^[7]. She also fell in the 1000m heats after being tripped by an Italian skater ^[8]. 👀 Men's Events and Mixed Relay News

Shin Dong-min finished 4th in the men's 1500m final ^[12].
