🤖 From MMORPGs That Hunt for You to AGF Lineups, This Week's Mobile Game News! 🎮 - 2026.10.18 | Mobile Games

Hello, fans! 🎮 Jiwallet Warrior is back with must-know mobile gaming news this week!

🤖 MMORPGs Where AI Hunts for You

Now even MMORPGs can be leveled up by AI. In Com2uS's 'Zeus: Rule of Oman', characters hunt on their own with AI Mode on, handling potion refills and skills too ^[1]. Smilegate's 'Eclipse: The Awakening' also highlights an AI Mode that runs for up to 24 hours and a 'Sanctuary' system where growth resources accumulate even while you're offline ^[1].

The results are hot. According to IGAWorks Mobile Index, in September Zeus ranked first and Eclipse third in Korea's mobile game sales rankings ^[1]. Idle game 'Maple Kiwoo' also held 5th place, so the idle game vibe has clearly moved into MMORPGs 😆

The key word is 'lack of time.' In a survey by the Korea Creative Content Agency, the most common reason for not playing games was lack of time (44%) ^[1]. The idea is to let AI handle repetitive hunting while players focus on guild and party content and player-vs-player battles. Eclipse's producer Lee Sang-moon explained that the goal was to reduce the pressure of having to log in at the same time every day ^[1]. Balance remains a challenge, since players who play directly should still gain more benefits, so it will be interesting to see how that is tuned.

🎌 Going All In on Fandom at AGF!

Korean game companies are heading to the year-end 'Anime Game Festival (AGF) 2026'. It runs from December 4 to 6 at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi ^[2].

NCSOFT: Serving as the main sponsor this year, it will show off the subculture RPG 'Astra Ohratio' and has prepared 150 booths, the largest among participants. It also ran a global CBT this month, so launch hype should keep climbing ^[2].
Nexon: Introducing the new title 'Azur Promilia', developed by China's Mojoy Games with Nexon handling the domestic service ^[2].
Netmarble: Attending with the long-running mobile game 'Fate/Grand Order'. Having participated in AGF since 2023, it is clearly serious about communicating with players ^[2].
Smilegate: Will introduce 'Chaos Zero Nightmare' to subculture fans, aiming to spread the appeal of its live service ^[2].

With goods, cosplay, and voice actor events, subculture fans show strong attachment, so offline events like this look set to grow in importance ^[2].

🏯 Com2uS Unveils Anime-Based Turn-Based RPG

Com2uS Group is targeting the Japanese market with a turn-based RPG based on the Japanese TV anime 'Dogen Kiki' ^[3]. It is designed for both mobile and PC, available on the App Store and AGO (Animate Games Online) ^[3]. It will also expand to the PC platform DMM and Google Play Games (GPG), showing a real commitment to broadening platforms 🙌

📉 No Confidence in Hits? Projects Get Shelved

According to reports, Korean game companies are increasingly shelving projects whose success is uncertain ^[4]. An adventure game that symbolized NCSOFT's genre diversification was recognized for differentiating itself from existing mobile MMORPGs, but failed to achieve long-term success. The company is pushing ahead with management efficiency measures ^[4]. The idea that losing the willingness to take on challenges is scarier than failure really hits home.

💰 Dokkaebi's World Draws Attention From Analysts

A Hanwha Investment & Securities report analyzed that the hit of Kakao Games' new title 'Dokkaebi's World' has started to normalize the company's corporate value ^[5]. After its launch on October 8, it entered the top 2 on both major app market sales charts, and at the time of the report it was reportedly ranked first on Google Play sales ^[5].
