🛼 Choi Min-jung's Last Dance Comeback! Kim Gil-li's Unlucky Montreal ⛸️ - 2026.11.03 | Short Track

Hello, fans! 🛼 World Tour Event 2 in Montreal, Canada has wrapped up. It was a week full of thrilling comebacks and unlucky crashes, so let's dive into the ice news! ⛸️

🔥 Choi Min-jung, Still Dancing in Her Final Season

Choi Min-jung is showing world-class form in her last national team season ^[1]. She added one gold and two silvers at Event 2 ^[1]. The women's 1000m final was a must-watch! 😍 Three Canadian skaters formed a thick wall up front, but Choi shot out wide to reach second, then slipped through the inside at the final corner to pass Courtney Sarault ^[7]. She won by 0.063 seconds, her second straight 1000m gold ^[7]. Choi said, "I believed in myself" ^[7].

In the women's 1500m, nine skaters battled for the final. Choi was the only Korean in the final ^[3]. With five laps left, three Dutch skaters tangled and fell, and Choi avoided the pileup to take the lead ^[4]. However, Elisa Confortola of Italy passed her late, leaving Choi with silver ^[4]. Her time was 2:22.741 ^[3].

💔 Kim Gil-li, Stopped by Back-to-Back Collisions

Rising star Kim Gil-li had a tough meet 😢 She fell after contact in the women's 500m heats and was caught in a crash in the 1000m heats, hitting the boards ^[2]. She then withdrew from the 1500m quarterfinal, finishing Event 2 without an individual medal ^[2]. Coming after Event 1, this made the disappointment even bigger ^[2]. Still, she won both the 1000m and 1500m at last March's World Championships ^[2], so fans are sure she'll shake this off 💪

🇰🇷 Relay Grit Shines Through

In the men's 5000m relay, Shin Dong-min, Kim Tae-sung, Bae Seo-chan, and Lee Gyu-ho took bronze in 7:06.217 ^[3]. Lee fell alone with four laps to go, but the team kept racing and held on for a medal after a battle with the Netherlands ^[10]. In the women's 3000m relay, Choi anchored and surged past Canada late to help Korea take silver ^[1].

📣 Next Stop: Home Fans!

Event 3 runs from the 20th to the 22nd at Mokdong Indoor Ice Rink in Seoul ^[1]. A banner reading 'Don't Retire, Choi Min-jung' has appeared, showing how passionate fans are ^[5]. Choi also said, "Please keep cheering for us through World Tour Event 3 in Korea" ^[6]. Your support fuels every lap! Let's hope for more comeback drama in Mokdong 🛼✨
