🔥 Nexon's New Game 'Overgeared' Is Already Making Waves

Nexon has announced that its new game 'Overgeared' will launch within this year ^[1]. The developers first laid out the game's direction in three OverTalk videos, and it will launch as a PC-mobile cross-platform game in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and more ^[1]. And 19 servers reportedly filled up in just six hours, so you can guess how much anticipation there is! 🤯 Playing across PC and mobile sounds great, so get both devices ready for launch!

⚔️ Genshin 7.2 'Dawn of Calamity' Arrives on November 4!

Genshin's 7.2 version 'Dawn of Calamity' will be updated on November 4 ^[2]. This time, a new Demon God quest unfolds as the entire continent of Teyvat faces a crisis, and the seven nations will unite to face the calamity ^[2]. The Ice Queen invites the representatives of the seven nations to Snezhnaya for a meeting, so story fans won't want to miss it! 👀

New playable characters 'Mitya' and 'Valerie' join the party, and a new exploration area opens in eastern Snezhnaya ^[2]. You can ride a train to explore the underground city 'New Kitesh' and 'Old Kitesh', the first city built by the White Tsar. Explorers, get ready! 🚂

The event wishes are packed too. The first half features Mitya and Valerie, with 'Furina' rerunning, and the second half brings reruns of 'Zibai' and 'Linnea' along with a new bundled wish containing some other characters ^[2]. Looks like your wallet is in for a workout... 💸

🎯 Nikke's 4th Anniversary Broadcast Wraps Up with Up to 259 Recruit Chances

The shooting RPG 'Goddess of Victory: Nikke' also held its 4th anniversary special broadcast ^[2]. Three new SSR Pilgrim Nikkes, 'Maria: Queen', 'Hongryeon: Sinsal', and 'Rapunzel: Sanctuary', were revealed, along with main story chapters 49 and 50 covering the third ground recapture operation ^[2]. With up to 259 recruit opportunities and the SSR Pilgrim Nikke 'Rapunzel: Sanctuary' as a reward, the anniversary benefits are generous. Even those who haven't logged in for a while should take a look! 🎁

🃏 'Path of the Gambler' and Lodestar x Papa John's Collab

The mobile game 'Hangame Seotda & Matgo' has also received the story-based quest content 'Path of the Gambler' ^[2]. It has three chapters, Beginner, Regular, and Top, and your starting point depends on your skill level. Various quests cover gameplay, completing hands, and using betting strategies ^[2]. An update celebration event runs until next month's 19th, so don't miss it! 🃏

The MMORPG 'Lodestar' is running a promotion with Papa John's from November 4 to December 23 ^[2]. Players with a level 55 or higher character can use a dedicated coupon to order a large or bigger pizza for 30% off and receive a 'Special In-Game Coupon' ^[2]. Eating pizza and gaming, the perfect weekend routine! 🍕

🌏 Industry Trends: The Race for External IP and East Asian Fandom

The industry atmosphere is interesting too. As major companies like NC and Nexon expand new releases through externally developed titles, the competition for external IP and publishing is heating up ^[5]. One of these new games will be handled by Veroplay, NC's mobile casual specialist subsidiary ^[5].

According to Sensor Tower, Japanese mobile game in-app purchase revenue was tallied for the past year through July this year, and East Asian fandom, rather than a developer's nationality, is emerging as the core of subculture game business ^[4]. One subculture game rose from 78th to 13th on Google Play's domestic grossing chart between the 20th, just before its update, and the 23rd ^[4]. Mobile gamers have surely felt how one update can shake up the rankings! 📈

To sum up: new releases cross between PC and mobile, Genshin and Nikke are running with major updates, and the industry is in a battle for external IP. Keep your wallets safe next week too! 💖
