Hello, fans! It's your Milan expeditioner! 🇮🇹 It's been almost a month since the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics ended, but our athletes' burning passion is still ongoing on the ice! Let me bring you the latest news of our ice national team stars who are continuing the emotion and joy of the Olympics right now! ❄️
🐯 Lamborgilli Kim Gilli & Shin Dong-min, Appointed as Ambassadors for Korea University!
Do you remember the proud faces that made the national anthem ring out at every short track arena of the Milan Olympics? Kim Gilli, who showed world-class skills by winning 2 gold medals in the women's 1500m and 3000m relay, and adding 1 bronze in the 1000m, securing a total of 3 medals! And Shin Dong-min, who played a key role in the team event by winning a silver medal with a storm-like dash in the men's 5000m relay, have been appointed as public relations ambassadors for Korea University [2].
At the appointment ceremony, Kim Gilli said, "It is an honor to become a public relations ambassador representing the school," leaving a wonderful remark that she will take the lead in spreading positive energy to society [2]. Shin Dong-min also expressed his ambitious aspiration to raise the school's status and contribute to its development [4]. Our athletes who are so reliable and cool off the ice as much as the unwavering mentality and skills they showed on the ice! The Milan expeditioner will unconditionally support your future steps! 👏
🔥 "I watched the 1st place video 1000 times!" Kim Gilli's Endless Challenge and Positive Energy
Kim Gilli's honest interview is also a hot topic, as she recently won her first two crowns (1000m, 1500m) at the World Championships in Montreal, Canada, automatically securing her spot on the national team for next season [1]. She said she finally learned how to enjoy skating after competing on the big stage of the Olympics [1]. Although her condition wasn't good early in the season, she raised her form towards the end and eventually created the tremendous result of winning two crowns at the World Championships [1].
Especially thanks to her explosive speed overtaking opponents, she earned the perfect nickname 'Lamborgilli' among fans, right? Behind this overwhelming skill was a tremendous amount of effort. It is said she constantly studied, watching the 1st place video as many as 1000 times to perfect her race [3]. As the World Championships will be held in Korea next year for the first time in 4 years, she also set a new goal to defend her two-crown title in front of domestic fans [1]. We can continue to look forward to Gilli's refreshing and positive racing style, right? 🚀
✈️ Soaring to the World Stage Once Again! Figure Skating Team Departs for Prague
Following short track, we can't leave out figure skating news! Shin Ji-a, who showed infinite potential by successfully making her senior debut and placing 11th in women's singles at the Milan Olympics, is challenging the world stage once again [5].
Our figure skating national team, including Shin Ji-a and Lee Hae-in, departed yesterday to participate in the World Championships held in Prague, Czech Republic starting from the 25th [5]. In an interview before departure, Shin Ji-a expressed her firm determination, saying, "As it is my first senior Worlds, I hope it will be a stage where I can show everything I have prepared," and that she will fully unleash her strongest point, strong jumps, on stage [5].
My heart is already pounding thinking about how much more beautifully and wonderfully our figure skating fairies, who must have grown even more after crossing the big mountain of the Olympics, will soar on the ice in Prague! Let's all cheer with one heart! 🧚♀️✨
